Holidays are tough. <– That’s a pessimistic statement, I’m aware.
I love the holidays. I’m a sucker for some good ol’ Bing Crosby music, a good glass of cinnamon wine, and a beautifully lit Christmas tree surrounded by family & friends. But before we get to that moment, we are surrounded by a global energy of hustle, bustle, stress and chaos to get the perfect gifts, to make the perfect dinners, or just to get to the perfect place.
From about November 15th – January 15th, I’d much prefer to hibernate and not deal with the world. However, that is not a good outlook on life, and I wouldn’t be helping myself or anyone else by being “The Hermit Medium”. (Ha, that’d make a lousy TV show too!)
On top of all this physical plane energy, we have a whole different energy that many people only think about during this time period. A lot of us are missing some family and friends around the dinner table, and it is normally a time when we think about our loved ones in Spirit the most. I know this is a silly reference, but I use it often. Spirit is like Santa’s belief meter in elf. The more you think about them, and the more you believe they are there, the stronger they are around you. So in turn, it creates somewhat of a catch 22 unless you have a channeler in your family. Most of the time, we start to miss them, so they get stronger and try and send us messages, which makes us think of them and miss them, which makes them stronger – and as you can see – it get’s a bit messy.
Learning how to interpret your Spirit loved ones is ESSENTIAL.
Before I really developed my abilities, I remember just being clinically sad during this time period. Which is ironic because it is supposed to be the happiest time of the year. I just couldn’t understand where this immediate depression came about. I was out of school, had no cares in the world, but just completely sad.
As an empathic Medium, I am often feeling how the Spirit I am channeling feels. As a empathic Psychic, I am channeling and feeling the emotions of a physical plane person. So before I really knew what was what, I was a hot mess. People are genuinely sad to be without their loved ones, and their loved one are trying to express to them they are there. No Spirit wants to see their loved one sad. Please, please, PLEASE know that. If you miss them, try and laugh or think of something positive. The more sadness, it brings your vibrations lower and makes it harder for them to get to you!
So what can you do during this time period to keep your energy up and you & your loved ones in Spirit happy?
Kick the Expectation: Most people with loved ones in Spirit chat often with their loved ones, and don’t often hear a response back. Kick the expectation of how you receive messages from Spirit. I 98% guarantee that it will not be like what you see in movies. (2% because hey, who knows!) Most Spirit will try and talk with you by sending memories. Notice what you’re thinking and WHY. Did you just ask Grandpa to come say hey? Then thought, oh I need to start the cookies, which are Grandpa’s favorite? Did you feel your heart flutter, and Grandpa died of a heart attack? Did you get the chills? Did a candle go out at the exact moment? Most of the time we spend missing messages from Spirit because of our expectation on what it SHOULD BE. Don’t. Allow them to show you love in whatever way they have the energy for.
Get Lit: No, no, no. Not the way you were thinking! Light lots of white candles. Surround yourself and your home in the white light I’ve spoken about in my other blogs. You want to make sure you have the intention of positivity before you go out in the global energy. It’s easy to get your home feeling great, because it’s only your energy. But be sure to cleanse and clear before you bring that energy back home. It’s a good time to learn to sage (white sage) if you haven’t already.
BELIEVE: I’m a cornball – and always have been. But if you believe they are there, and fully trust in their ability to show themselves to you – it will be a LOT easier for them. Tis the Spirit of the Season. Traditional Santa won’t show up – but Spirit will 🙂
If it’s your first holiday season without your loved ones – have faith. They are seeing it all, and unwrapping presents with you.
